Sean Brosnahan, who is a prominent historian with Toitu Otago Early Settlers Museum in Dunedin, met recently with the Cedars of Lebanon Club Dunedin President Richard Joseph, to show him newspaper clippings he had researched relating to Lebanese (often referred to as Assyrians) early immigrants to Otago. Sean commented that most historical information on our website and publications related to the second half of the 20th century and very little if anything was known about the very early immigrants. He sent Richard the newspaper clippings under two headings, Newspaper references to Lebanese and Intra-Lebanese strife. It is with much appreciation to Sean that we have pleasure in making that information available for you to read and enjoy. Links below.
