ZA’ATAR - Julie Le Clerc

Makes 1 1/4 cups

Za’atar is the Arabic name for dried thyme but it also refers to a mixture of dried thyme combined with sesame seeds and the powdered sour berry known as sumac. This za’atar mix is commonly used as a topping for flatbread which is often eaten for breakfast or as a street-food snack.

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup dried thyme
1/4 cup sumac
1/4 cup lightly toasted sesame seeds

METHOD:

Combine all ingredients. Store in a sealed jar and use within 1 month.
